Second Stage

Not only is the title of this entry a reference to Initial D, but it's an indication of the progress of my JET application. The following email arrived today:

Dear Timothy

RE: The 2008 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme

It is our great pleasure to inform you that you have successfully passed the second stage of the screening process for the 2008 JET Programme and that you are now on the final short-list for Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) candidates. You are now scheduled for placement in a Contracting Organisation, which is possible in almost all cases.

In May, after a Contracting Organisation has been selected, you will be informed of the final selection result with the name of the prefecture or designated city to which you are assigned. Every effort will be made to satisfy your placement preferences. However, because of the limited number of positions available in each area, please understand that in many cases this will not always be possible.

An official letter, additional documents and proceedures will be posted to you late this week. We just thought we would take this opportunity to inform you of your results by email in advance.

All I can say is: W00T!

I'm going to Japan XD

Timotheos
